Yes, despite the rumors, there will be a 41st Fiesta Days celebration. Friday through Sunday, Aug. 1, 2 and 3 are the magic dates. Volunteers are invited to come to an organizational meeting on Thursday, April 17 at 8 p.m. at La Sierra Mexican Restaurant.
We have had a slow start this year, due to the many retirements from the board. Now we have a slate of new people. The new officers are: Mary Kay Stolting as president, Mitzi Scott as Vice President, Kathy Crandall as Treasurer and Bridgett Storm as Secretary.
We are planning the time honored events, such as the Fiesta Days Parade, the Queen Contest, Teen Dance, Pet Show, Fishing Derby, Log Sawing and Horseshoe Tournament.
We will also have food vendors, merchandise vendors, carnival and entertainment. If you have new ideas to incorporate into the weekend, we want to hear from you.
Volunteers who want to take on just a small portion of the event are welcomed. On Thursday, April 17 at La Sierra, a rough outline of the events will be compiled.
