Forget that we had two to six inches of snow last week—because Frazier Mountain will be sizzling on Saturday. Two amazing events—and the Heartbreak 100 endurance bicycle race as a bonus—will make this a weekend to remember.

The Second Annual Ridge Route Run Car Show is Saturday, May 29. See the famous Hollywood Star Cars collection from your favorite movies, meet stock car racing champion Mike “M.K.” Kanke and see his $200,000 racing trailer. Watch for Star Cars’ Back to the Future DeLorean, the Ghostbusters’ limousine and an original Batmobile.

The show is free to spectators, but all proceeds will go to benefit the Mountain Communities Boys & Girls Club this year. There will be music and fun up and down Mt. Pinos Way in Frazier Park from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Frazier Mountain Renaissance Faire:

Beautiful Tait Ranch will be transformed into 16th Century England May 29-31 and June 5-6. Food, entertainment and frivolity reign from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (at 3344 Frazier Mountain Park Road). A short walk will take you through a gate and back in time to discover music, magic, theater, equestrian events, black powder musketry, a great variety of foods and beverages plus a “battle” between the English and the Scots-Irish. If purchased online in advance [frazmtnrenfaires.com], adult tickets are $12.50 for a day pass; kids 10-17 are $7.50. Younger children are free. Discounts for multi-day passes. At the gate, there will be a $2.50 increase for all tickets.

Volunteers are being sought for shifts between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday through Monday to assist with parking, fee collections, space coordinators, ticketing, event fee collections, goodwill ambassadors to greet patrons and answer questions, collect survey information and help with grounds keeping needs.
