David Nelson of Pine Mountain called in a “Breaking News” story that deserves the name on Saturday, Nov. 6. He alerted The Mountain Enterprise 245-NEWS line that “a huge oak limb” had fallen from the top of a tall oak, about 60 feet, in Frazier Mountain Park just across from the library

“It could easily have killed a family of four,” Nelson, a local satirist said, adding that the heritage oaks are “the story that keeps on giving.” An arborist’s report about the condition of the park’s oaks has just been issued, and will be reported next week.
