GORMAN/NEENACH (Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, 4:22 p.m.)—CHP estimates road closures to remain in place until approximately 11:30 p.m.
GORMAN/NEENACH (Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, 4:22 p.m.)—The Los Angeles Times is reporting two fatalities in the collision.
GORMAN/NEENACH (Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, 3:22 p.m.)—Off-duty L.A. County firefighter Scott Robinson has provided an un-official report indicating one fatality and four critical injuries. It is unknown at this time in which vehicles the fatality and injuries occurred. Robinson said the crew truck may be from Camp 14 which he said would be an inmate crew truck that often works the San Francisquito Canyon area. The specific truck from Camp 14 is unkown at this time. CHP reports indicate that L.A. Coroner’s Office has been contacted.

GORMAN/NEENACH (Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, 2:40 p.m.)—At 2:18 p.m. a head-on collision between a fire truck and passenger vehicle on SR-138 approximately 10 miles east of the I-5, closed both lanes of Highway 138. According to California Highway Patrol preliminary reports, the fire truck overturned and there are major injuries in both vehicles. Connectors between north- and southbound I-5 and Gorman Post Road to the 138 are closed for an unknown duration. A Sigalert has been issued on the I-5, Hwy. 138 and Gorman Post Road closures. CHP reports indicated, "Nobody getting out of vehicle or fire truck" and "Major injuries."
Community reporter Rick Scott called in to advise The Mountain Enterprise of the accident as he overheard it on the radio. Scott said there are multiple ambulances and helicopters responding to the scene. Scott said he had heard a report that one fatality was confirmed. He said that the fire truck appeared to be a "crew truck."
Crew trucks are typically camp crew trucks which carry about nine crew members, according to Los Angeles County fireman Scott Robinson who spoke with The Mountain Enterprise while off-duty today. Robinson serves with LACFD Station 77 in Gorman.
