Our readers have been kept apprised of the Kern County Roads Department maintenance project that required possible 20 minute delays on Frazier Mountain Park Road October 3 and 4. The last day of work has been rescheduled for Thursday, Oct. 14 and the managing engineer has kindly sent us a note so mountain residents will be able to plan ahead in their commutes. Because there are no "alternate routes" for commuters in the Mountain Communities for many of our main roads, we appreciate Todd Wood’s consideration in helping us keep our readers informed. Here is his note.

Dear Mountain Enterprise:
The Kern County Roads Department would like to advise your readers that the Maintenance Division has completed two of the three days of our chip seal project on Frazier Mountain Park Road. The third day of chip sealing has been rescheduled to Thursday, Oct. 13 due to the weather.

One-way traffic control with a pilot vehicle will again be in force and traffic delays are expected but will be kept to the shortest time period possible to minimize the inconvenience to the traveling public.

The department also encourages the traveling public to observe the advisory construction speed limits during construction to ensure the safety of the workers and the public.
