16-vehicle chain-reaction crash and fires clog NB Grapevine for 13 hours

A blazing crash that involved 16 vehicles and started three wildfires at the northern base of the Grapevine was national news this week. U.S. News & World Report, Associated Press and Reuters all reported about the 13 hours of Tuesday night through Wednesday morning, May 8-9, in which all northbound lanes of the heavily-traveled Interstate 5 were shut down.
