Springtime at the Museum

By Bonnie Kane

It is springtime, and that means it is time for basket weaving at the Ridge Route Communities Museum again. This will be a beginners class to make pine needle baskets.

The date is Saturday, March 26 from 10-12 noon.

Those participating will learn how to make use of our always-abundant crop of local pine needles and methods of collecting the needles will be covered as well.

Call the Ridge Route Communities Museum at 661-245-7747 to reserve a place for yourself and a friend. There is a $5 charge for supplies. Come and join the fun.

This is part of the March 11, 2011 online edition of The Mountain Enterprise.
