Have you seen the way children’s eyes sparkle when they hold a new book of their very own? The Frazier Park School Book Fair reading adventure returns this upcoming March 7- 11. Parents may shop from 2-4 p.m. every day. The fair is set up in the library.

Students can shop during school hours each day.

On Thursday, March 10, from 2-4 p.m. there will be guest readers in the school reading lab. It is always fun to share that with your young students.

Fundraising Goals

The school earns 70 percent of all proceeds from book fair sales. Our goal is to raise $4,300 from the book fair to get two more ‘smart boards’ for our classrooms.

The Scholastic Publishing Company provides a matching grant for money raised in their One-for-Books donation drive, which collects loose change to buy books for needy children and classrooms.

PTSO’s Jog-a-thon

The Parent, Teacher, Student Organization (PTSO) will also hold its annual Jog-athon on Thursday, March 10, from noon to 2 p.m. The money raised buys classroom supplies.

Our next Frazier Park School PTSO meeting is Thursday March 3 at 2:15 p.m. Please come to help us plan our next adventure.

This is part of the March 04, 2011 online edition of The Mountain Enterprise.
