The Girl Scouts’ Chocolate Recruitment party had a great turn out on Saturday, Sept. 13. The girls and a few boys had a lot of fun, slipping and sliding in chocolate syrup and pudding. Thank goodness for the big T-shirts from the Boys & Girls Club Thrift Store.

We had a balloon toss contest with brown and white chocolate balloons full of…(what else?)…chocolate.

Then the girls became very competitive in the tugof- war over a wading pool full of (yes, you guessed it again) chocolate puffs. Both sides of the rope ended up in the pool.

The children made their own s’mores.

Finally, we had a chocolate pie contest. No hands and lots of chocolate faces. There was a tie between Vivirito and Suorsa.

There were plenty of stuffed animals for prizes thanks to the Boys & Girls Club Thrift Store.

We also had a bake sale with chocolate cupcakes, chocolate s’mores, chocolate licorice, chocolate cheese cake and chocolate sundaes.

Many of the Mt. Pinos Girl Scout leaders were there to answer questions. After having so much fun, the girls were eager to join the Girl Scouts.

If you missed the party, please call Larri Marasa at 245-1035. We will be happy to answer any of your questions or help with applications. The Girl Scouts is a great place for girls to grow.
