CORRECTION: Fort Tejon Historic Park Immersive History Weekend will not include Civil War battles or cannons

LEBEC, CA (Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017)—CORRECTION: The Fort Tejon Historical Association (FTHA) has notified us that this weekend’s immersive history events at Fort Tejon Historic Park were called a Civil War reenactment in error in our Community Calendar on page 11. In fact, this weekend will feature California’s Civil War 2nd Infantry Regiment, California Volunteers—soldiers who are preparing to depart to fight in the Civil War in 1864, a program “to commemorate the Garrison and Civilian Community of Fort Tejon during the Civil War.”

At this weekend reenactment, visitors are invited to meet and talk to the soldiers and civilians that lived and worked at Fort Tejon. Hands-on interpretive learning demonstrations will be conducted for park visitors. There are many things to see, including 1850s Army Barracks, Blacksmithing, Adobe Brick-making, Open Hearth Cooking, Needle Craft, Laundry, Carpentry Shop and the Officer’s Quarters.
