Woman’s body found near Gorman

A body found on Sunday, Aug. 14 remains a mystery while investigators try to identify the young victim.

Lt. José Mendoza told The Mountain Enterprise that a family had found the body at the edge of Gorman Post Road just 50 yards north of Highway 138. They called authorities at about 5 p.m.

Homicide investigators believe the body is that of a woman between 20 and 30 years of age. Mendoza said it was the severe head trauma that led them to believe the victim was murdered.
