Sgt. Mark Brown shows the medications that have been deposited in the collection box at the Frazier Park substation since early September. Kern County Sheriff’s deputies have collected almost nine pounds of unwanted medications from deposits there. “Thank you for bringing in the medications to be properly and safely disposed of,” Sgt. Brown said, “Your actions prevented these pills from being illegally consumed by vulnerable youth and you’ve kept them out of your water table.”

The substation is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
