You can pick up healthy organic kale, broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, arugula and a variety of organic juices while Christmas shopping this month. The Outlets at Tejon mall is hosting state-certified organic produce from Grimmway Farms every Saturday and Sunday through December 28, from 12 noon to 5 p.m., in a pavilion tent next to Pottery Barn.

The popular juices include berry, mango and ‘bunched greens’ varieties, made just a few miles away, between Taft and Lamont, Supervisor Jose Gutierrez said. He was excited to tell how their Cal-Organic Division grows vegetables without pesticides—by planting pungent arugula among other crops , for instance, to repel insect pests, he explained. The Holiday Farmers’ Market features 25 organic vegetables.
