Here’s your chance to let your voice be heard! The Kern County Library invites residents to the Kern County Board of Supervisors Meeting on Tuesday, February 2 at 2 p.m. regarding the future of library services in Kern County at the Kern County Administrative Center. Through a comprehensive report, which includes the results and responses of a scientific poll, staff meetings, community meetings, and a library developed survey, the Kern County Library, along with the Kern County Board of Supervisors and the County Administrative Office, will be discussing priorities and preferences for future library services. We encourage community members to voice their thoughts and ideas with Kern County leaders.

Attached is the 2015 Summary of the Library Community Survey. This report specifically covers the Community Survey, which is an important part of the effort to inform the Kern County Board of Supervisors and the County Administrative Office with an up-to-date understanding of Kern residents’ needs and preferences for their library system. Highlights of the report include an overwhelming positive viewpoint on library staff and services, an interest in enhancing materials and technology, and that most community members visit multiple library branches to meet their needs. The full report on the public input process for Kern County Library services can be viewed here.
