Terrific soccer season comes to a close for Falcons

UPDATE: Lebec, CA (Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 10 p.m.)—The stellar Falcon soccer season has com to a close. The girls Division VI champs scored first in their bout with Fowler High School, a Division V team. The Falcons lost, 2-5, but felt great about their achievements, said Coach Sharon Lemburg.

UPDATE: Lebec, CA (Monday, March 7, 2016 at 3 p.m.)—”We are playing at Fowler High School at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8,” said Coach Sharon Lemburg. Fowler won Central California CIF Division V. The Frazier Mountain High School Falcons won CIF’s Division VI Championship. There are 8 teams left in the Southern Regional Playoffs for Division V. There is no further playoff for Division VI.”

The Falcons will have a chance Tuesday to see if they can leap up a Division and go into the Division V playoffs.

They Won! Falcon girls soccer take CIF Division Championship

UPDATE: Firebaugh, CA (Friday, Feb. 26, 2016 at 9:40 p.m.)—They won! The Frazier Mountain High School Lady Falcon soccer team took the CIF  Central Section Division VI Championship on Friday, Feb. 26 against Firebaugh High School. “Girls soccer win 1-0 in two overtimes. They are the Central Section Champions,” Coach Sharon Lemburg said.

Girls soccer head to CIF Division VI Championship

The Frazier Mountain High School girls soccer team won their semi-finals match against Farmersville 3-1 on Tuesday, Feb. 23 in a cliffhanger game.

The teams were tied 1-1 until the last three minutes, Coach Sharon Lemburg reports.
The Falcons pounded two balls into the goal for a 3-1 victory in the final seconds.
On Friday, Feb. 19 they won against Arvin 2-0.

The Lady Falcons now move to the Central Section CIF Les Schwab Division VI Championship Finals on Friday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. against Firebaugh in an away game.

The FMHS boys’ soccer team won their match against California City on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 5-2. They lost their Thursday, Feb. 18 game against Exeter 4-2, ending their season just two steps away from the Division VI Championship.
