‘Have Fun, But Respect Private Property and the Law’

Sheriff’s Alert to Snow Play Visitors:

By Sgt. Mark Brown, Kern County Sheriff’s Department

Deputies at the Frazier Park substation of the Kern County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the assistance of the public in responsibly enjoying the winter snowfall.

Everyone wanting to enjoy the snow must do so legally and safely. Our mountain communities have limited areas that are open to the public.

We ask everyone to park legally and not to trespass on private property. Trespassers may be cited or arrested and illegally parked vehicles will be cited and/or towed.

We understand the desire to play in the snow, but private property rights must be observed.

We welcome everyone to visit our beautiful mountain communities to enjoy the snow, the scenery and our wonderful local merchants.

Please remember that trespassing, vandalism, littering and illegal parking laws will be enforced. Be mindful of California Vehicle Code laws and the rights of private property owners.

Deputies and CHP Officers will be working diligently to ensure everyone has a safe, legal and fun weekend in the snow.
