Hillbilly to elegant? Public meeting on roadside signs Tuesday, July 17 at 7 p.m.

Public meeting set for July 17at 7 p.m. at Frazier Mountain Park Community Building

By Rachel Unell, MCCC

The Mountain Communities Chamber of Commerce, the Frazier Park Public Utility District and Kern County Supervisor Ray Watson will co-host a community conversation to hear about your design preferences for the monument sign to be constructed on Frazier Mountain Park Road.

This monument sign structure will provide advertising space for local businesses.

Once constructed, it will allow the numerous individual billboards along the roadside to be removed.

Our vision is to provide an attractive, effective manner for businesses to advertise that also complies with county sign ordinances. Your input at this meeting —7 to 8:30 p.m. at Frazier Mountain Park Community Center—will be used in the design process, so that the signage will reflect what the community businesses and residents most want.

We will present photos of signs in the community now, as well as other visual designs to help get the ideas rolling.
