Lebec man dies in dirt bike crash with big rig near ‘J’

Friends are gathering to offer comfort to the Lebec family of Michael Christopher ‘Mikie’ Thomas, 24 who was killed early Saturday morning, April 25 in a traffic accident on Frazier Mountain Park Road near the Pilot Flying J Travel Center.

California Highway Patrol reports that the 2009 Frazier Mountain High School graduate was riding east on a 2005 Kawasaki dirt bike motorcycle at about 3 a.m., heading from …(please see below to view full stories and photographs)

This is the stretch of Frazier Mountain Park Road where Michael Thomas collided with a big rig at about 3:17 a.m. on Saturday morning, April 25. He was heading east toward home in Lebec, riding a dirt bike that was not “street legal.” There was no headlight on the bike, the CHP report said.
