By Patric Hedlund

After over a decade of anticipation, preparations are being made to move the contents of the Frazier Park branch of the Kern County Library to a brand new facility at 3732 Park Drive.

The leased facility at 3015 Mt. Pinos Way will be permanently closed to the public on October 8, according to a press release from the The Kern County Library director. The lease there terminates on October 14. Library personnel will be moving during the closed period.

Hours for the Frazier Park branch library will remain the same at the new facility; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The grand opening ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 22 will begin at 10 a.m. and the new branch will open to the public following the ceremony.

During the period it is closed, customers are referred to www.kerncountylibrary. org and to other branch locations in Kern County. Extended loan periods will be given during this closure until after the new branch opens on Saturday, Oct. 22.
