Lilac Festival Parade, Music, Vendors, Fun this Weekend

Free Bus Rides Offered by Kern County to Celebrate Lilac Festival

Don’t miss out on the fun at Lilac Festival Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15 in Pine Mountain Village. The parade starts at 11 a.m.on Saturday. There are pony rides, entertainment, lots of bands, crafts, arts, vendors and great food. The fun continues on Sunday, with those perfect bargains you’ve been looking for on a wide array of vendors’ goods. The full official schedule is published in The New Mountain Pioneer (on newsstands throughout the mountain).

The summer bus schedule has begun and free rides throughout the Mountain Communities are running to and from the Lilac Festival on Saturday.

Don’t miss the Pine Mountain Scrappers’ Guild Quilt Show, a jaw-dropping display every two years of wonderful quilts, fabric art and imagination. You’ll find it over in Lampkin Park, on Saturday only.

At the Safety Fair in Lampkin Park (also on Saturday) you’ll find fire trucks for the kids to explore "up close and personal," plus lots of great information for the whole family about getting your family prepared for all kinds of possible emergencies. Directions: From the I-5 Frazier Park exit, follow Frazier Mountain Park Road through Cuddy Valley (it becomes Cuddy Valley Road)  to the Mil Potrero Highway turn off to your right, then follow that to Pine Mountain Village.

1. The Sam’s Mini Mart bus stop is located west of the Texaco Station on the Frazier Mtn. Park frontage road.
2. The Flying J bus stop is located at the mailbox outside “The Cookery” restaurant.
3. The Frazier Park Post Office bus stop is located at the bus shelter across the street from the Post Office.
4. The Lake of the Woods bus stop is located at Midway Market.
5. The Pinon Pines bus stop is located at the mailboxes.
6. The Pine Mtn. Club bus stop is located at the shelter in front of the Club House.
7. Passengers may transfer to the Frazier Park/Bakersfield Route at the Frazier Park Post Office and at the Flying J.
