Local Cooling Center to open at 95°

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 12:30 p.m.)—Kern County cooling centers are set to open for those who are vulnerable to the heat when temperatures are predicted to hit 95°. Transportation can be provided, the county said. See the report below.

The Cooling Center at the Frazier Mountain Park Community Center (3801 Park Drive) will be open to the public when temperatures are forecast by the National Weather Service to be 95 degrees or higher. The center will be open 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Frazier Park Branch Library will also be open during the normal library hours (across the street from the community center and park). Library hours are Tuesday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Announcements will be made on this website, local TV and radio stations and on the Kern County website, www.co.kern.ca.us.
