The Montgomery Street Motorcycle Club, based in San Francisco, wheeled its Southern California tour into Pine Mountain Village on Saturday, Oct. 9 for a sleepover on their way back home.

The 45-year-old club rides to Death Valley each spring. But Ed Friedrichs said members were not very interested in Southern California rides.

“I told them they had to discover some of the canyon rides—and they loved it,” Friedrichs said. “We rode down Highway 1 and into the Santa Monica Mountains. I know those roads like the back of my hand.”

Mulholland Highway, Topanga Canyon, Stunt Road and the Rock Store west of Malibu Canyon are some of the motorcycling hotspots in Southern California.

The group stayed in Woodland Hills Friday night and made its way up to Pine Mountain Village Saturday. They had dinner at the Bistro on the Greens.

The Pine Mountain Inn, recently remodeled by Kip Storz, was the perfect fit. Its seven rooms hosted the 14 guests comfortably. Paco the pup, who rides two wheels along with the rest of the club, enjoyed one of the two pet-friendly rooms at the inn.

The Montgomery Street Motorcycle Club is limited to 40 active members. Their membership currently stands at 40 (plus Paco).

The Pine Mountain Inn can be reached at 661-242-1982.
