Mountain Theater Alliance Presents: Summer Stage

By Kat Fair, MTA

The Mountain Theater Alliance will hold another round of auditions May 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. for its summer plays. Auditions will be held in the Pine Mountain Village Gazebo.

MTA has been producing plays for the past four years, and is now excited to announce our new 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status that will also help MTA to run a year-round theater season.

Casting has begun for the Summer Stage weekend program July 23 to August 1, featuring Lillian Hellman’s classic American drama “Watch on the Rhine” and the hilarious “Greater Tuna.”

Roles are open for anyone from 10 years old to 65 years young.

The rest of the 2015-16 season will offer an early fall production of “Wittenberg,” a smart comedy that teams Hamlet, Martin Luther and Faustus. November will bring a dinner theater production of “Breaking Legs,” a farce in which the Mafia meets Off-Broadway.

MTA exists because of volunteer support. Call 661.242.6904 for more about the plays, auditions, tickets or volunteer opportunities.
