After a third freeway fire in only 17 days sent residents fleeing their homes, community members from Lebec to Pine Mountain were wondering out loud why someone doesn’t cut the grass along the freeway—and just who is responsible to manage the fire hazard along I-5—one of the busiest highways in America?
