News Alert: I-5 Closures at Castaic Thursday Night And Next Week

Castaic — The following is a schedule of freeway closures for the NORTHBOUND I-5 Freeway at Hasley Canyon Road.

Full one directional I-5 scheduled freeway closure is as follows:
The northbound I-5 freeway is scheduled for full closure overnight on Thursday, 8/21/08 from 11:59 pm to 5:00 am on Friday, 8/22/08.

DETOURS:

Northbound I-5 traffic will detour around the closure by exiting at 126 west; continuing south on Commerce Center Drive; then east on Henry Mayo Drive; then continuing north on The Old Road to the northbound Route 5 on-ramp, at Lake Hughes Road.

The purpose of the freeway closures is to allow work on the new Hasley Canyon Bridge. Changeable message board signs will be posted to guide motorists throughout the detour. Also, CHP officers will be present at the site to direct traffic as necessary.

I-5 freeway closures are scheduled at Hasley Canyon Road in Castaic as follows:
• Southbound I-5 freeway closures from 11:59 pm to 5:00 am:
• Monday, August 25, 2008
• Tuesday, August 26, 2008
• Thursday, August 28, 2008
• Friday, August 29, 2008

There will be full freeway closures in one direction of the freeway, and 2 lanes in the opposite direction simultaneously. The detour for the southbound I-5 traffic will exit at Lake Hughes Road off-ramp, south on The Old Road to the southbound Route 5 on-ramp, north of Rye Canyon.

• Northbound I-5 freeway closures from 11:59 pm to 5:00 am:
o Tuesday, August 26, 2008
o Wednesday, August 27, 2008
o Thursday, August 28, 2008

There will be full freeway closures in one direction of the freeway, and 2 lanes in the opposite direction simultaneously. The detour for the northbound traffic will exit at 126 west; south on Commerce Center Drive; east on Henry Mayo Drive; north on The Old Road to the northbound Route 5 on-ramp, at Lake Hughes Road.

The purpose of the freeway closures are for the demolition of the existing Hasley Canyon Bridge. Changeable message signs will be posted to guide motorists throughout the detour. Also, CHP officers will be present at the site to assist motorists as necessary.
