Saturday Fun: Wine Festival and Art Walk Hosted by Pine Mountain Village Merchants

Look for delicious treats for the eye and the palate at the return of the original Pine Mountain Wine Festival this Saturday, Sept. 24. The festival begins at noon. It will proceed from the sign-in booth on the south side of Pine Mountain General Store (in the picnic area). Festival-goers will browse their way to seven different pouring locations, enjoying a wonderful show by a diverse group of artists, at participating businesses throughout the villag. Mark Bailey has organized the Wine Festival event on behalf of Pine Mountain Village Merchants Association and Mike Cram, curator at the Work of HeArt Gallery, has put together the Festival Art Walk.

A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales to the wine festival will directly benefit the Mountain Communities SPCA, according to Bailey.

Five of the pouring stations will serve hors d’oeuvres and some will feature multiple wineries. The extraordinary wines of Sagebrush Annie’s and StonePine Wineries are among the vintners being featured. The wines of Larry and Karina Hogan have just won their 37th gold medal in international competitions.

On Saturday, maps and wine glasses will be handed out upon sign-in.

The price is $37 and tickets can be purchased online at www.pinemountainwinefest. com, or at the festival entrance. Tickets are also being sold by Madd Bailey’s Pub, Pine Mountain General Store, Computers & Games and Pine Mountain Auto Center.
