In November 1971, Pat and Floyd Bolton first came to “The Hill” and purchased their first lot in the brand new Kern County subdivision of “Pine Mountain Club.” Is was dirt roads and spindly trees on a golf course, nestled within the Los Padres National Forest. These are their Pioneer Memories.

The Pine Mountain clubhouse was a real estate office, complete with a very large topographic map in the center of what is now the Condor Room, plus a large contingent of agents.

The roads were only partially paved, some not at all. The golf course had skinny sticks that the agents promised were going to be real trees.

Lampkin Park was nonexistent, as were most other amenities. We decided to gamble that all would be done. Our agent took us to the lot we would eventually buy…(please see below to view full stories and photographs)
