Power down for hour throughout Mountain Communities

UPDATE: Lebec, Frazier Park, Lake of the Woods, Pine Mountain Club, CA (Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014 at 12:45 p.m.)—Southern California Edison Public Information representative Anna Frutos-Sanchez told The Mountain Enterprise that the power failure was not caused by an “external problem.”

“Internal testing was being conducted in our Frazier Park substation and in Lebec,” Frutos-Sanchez said. “Our technicians were doing internal checking when something failed. But they had the power restored within minutes,” she said.

Telephone calls with The Mountain Enterprise at the beginning of the outage and at the end of the outage verified that power was out from 8:35 a.m. to approximately 9:40 a.m. between Lebec, Frazier Park, Lake of the Woods, Pinon Pines and Pine Mountain.

Lebec, Frazier Park, Lake of the Woods, Pine Mountain Club, CA (Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014 at 9:42 a.m.)—Southern California Edison’s power grid failed at 8:35 a.m. this morning, turning off electricity to most of the Mountain Communities. SCE spokespeople said they did not know the cause of the problem at 9 a.m., but they had sent troubleshooters to investigate, they said. At roughly 9:40 a.m. power returned.
