Preparing for El Niño—Flood concerns span the Mountain Communities

They haven’t yet talked with each other, but property owners in Lake of the Woods, Frazier Park and Los Padres Estates in Lebec are all contacting The Mountain Enterprise with concerns about preparing for possible El Niño flooding this winter.

From Los Padres National Forest land it is clear that a water channel has been created that points directly to Gil Karson’s home (the white house shown here). This is the channel that brought tons of mud and debris into Karson’s home during the flash flood of last July.
