Rollover crash on Interstate 5 leaves one dead

LEBEC, CA (Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at 10:04 p.m.)—All lanes are now open.

LEBEC, CA (Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at 9:35 p.m.)—Traffic is backed up to Gorman.

LEBEC, CA (Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at 9:20 p.m.)—The number 3 lane has opened.

LEBEC, CA (Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at 7:10 p.m.)—The number 1 and 2 lanes have opened.

LEBEC, CA (Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at 6:31 p.m.)—The medevac helicopter has lifted off the freeway.

LEBEC, CA (Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at 6:30 p.m.)—Northbound traffic is reported to be backed up eight to ten miles through Lebec.

LEBEC, CA (Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at 6:06 p.m.)—The freeway is now closed. The first ground ambulance has arrived on scene.

LEBEC, CA (Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at 6:04 p.m.)—Kern County Fire Department has ordered the freeway shut down for a medevac helicopter to land on the roadway.

LEBEC, CA (Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at 5:51 p.m.)—A single vehicle rollover accident on northbound I-5, north of Fort Tejon, has left one dead, a 10-year-old girl with major injuries and three with moderate injuries. Initial report is that the vehicle collided with the center divider then flipped across all lanes onto the right shoulder. Three people were ejected from the vehicle. The accident scene is four miles north of Fort Tejon.
