LEBEC (2 p.m., Sunday, May 23, 2010)—At 10:13 a.m. California Highway Patrol received report of a solo vehicle off the roadway on northbound Interstate 5 at the Kern County/Los Angeles County line, with a dog possibly stuck inside. Upon arrival CHP officers found the vehicle on its roof with unknown occupancy. Further investigation revealed the driver had been killed in the accident. The cause of the accident and additional details are not yet known. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
