Sliding Home—Some ice remains but snow play traffic calms

About 1,500 to 2,000 vehicles per day—an estimated 16,000 visitors—arrived for snow play in the Mountain Communities last weekend.

“About 25% were turned away for lack of chain control devices,” California Highway Patrol’s Lt. Curtis Fouyer said. “Wait times for the chain screen on Lockwood Valley at Ivins Road averaged…(please see below to view full stories and photographs)
