State Assemblyman Vince Fong will host a workshop on cybersecurity for small businesses on Thursday, July 27 from 9 to 10 a.m. with TransWest Security at
8503 Crippen St. in Bakersfield. Fong’s office announced:
“Protect your business from cyber breaches:
• $52,714 is the average cost of a data breach 62%of data breaches were of small to medium-sized businesses in 2016;
• 60%of those businesses were forced to close their doors in 6 months;
• 16 cybersecurity bills have been introduced by elected officials in the last two years
•Listen to, learn from and interact with cyber experts as they discuss the status of cyber crime and explain how to protect your business from the biggest threat in the 21st Century.
