PINE MOUNTAIN CLUB, CA (Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016 at 8:29 a.m.)—Smoke seen over Apache Saddle west of Pine Mountain Club this morning appears not to be from any nearby fire. Firefighters from Kern County Fire Department Patrol 58 reported that the smoke appears to be drifting over from the Rey fire in Santa Barbara County. A  reporter from The Mountain Enterprise drove west of Apache Saddle and observed that the smoke was coming from the Santa Barbara area. Ventura County Fire Department Patrol 16 also reported that the haze appears to be drift smoke. The Rey fire was reported Thursday, Sept. 1 to be 96% contained.
