Smoke in Gorman area from fire at Vandenberg Air Force Base

GORMAN, CA (Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 8:39 a.m.)—Smoke reported in the Gorman area is from a wildfire at Vandenberg Air Force Base, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Captain Ken Rens at Station 77 in Gorman. The fire started Saturday and had grown to over 6,000 acres by Monday night, causing base officials to scrub the launch of a satellite that had been scheduled for Sunday morning, according to a report from spaceflightnow.com.
