FRAZIER PARK, CA (Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018 at 9:30 a.m.)—Snowplay visitors on their way to the top of Mt. Pinos were required to install snow chains on their vehicles before proceeding up Mt. Pinos Road from Cuddy Valley this morning. There was one checkpoint in Lake of the Woods at Lockwood Valley Road and another at “the Y” where chains were required to be installed before going further up the mountain. Kern County Sheriff’s Sergeant David Kessler said he observed what appeared to be “a couple of inches” of snow at the parking lot at Nordic Base this morning.
