Investigation continues into stabbings on Spruce Trail in Frazier Park

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Monday, Oct. 3, 2016 at 10 a.m.)—”We are not medical personnel, and we do not give out medical information, but from second-hand information we have now, we now expect [those who were injured] to make it,” said Sgt. James Anton at about 9:56 a.m.

Sgt. Anton, serving as interim sergeant at the Frazier Park substation, confirmed that homicide detectives came out for the investigation on Sunday morning and “they do not usually handle attempted murders, but they came out in this case.” He said the night supervisor for the region dispatched them.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Monday, Oct. 3, 2016 at 9:40 a.m.)—Acquaintances of those injured are calling The Mountain Enterprise to say that there has not been a death from the injuries at this time. We are continuing to check with official sources and members of the community for additional information. It is likely that details will change rapidly.

The Los Angeles County Coroner said that they have not received a fatality, but that a death on a weekend might not reach them from the hospital until later on Monday. The homicide division of the Kern County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation at this time, according to Deputy Knox. We will continue to provide updates.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Monday, Oct. 3, 2016 at 7:40 a.m.)—Lead Deputy Brian Knox said homicide detectives are now in charge of the investigation. No names are available from official sources at this time, and no details have been released officially. We will update as more official information is available. NOTE: an earlier version of this breaking news post indicated that one of those injured may have died from his wounds. That is not the case. Lead Deputy Brian Knox said he did not make that statement. He recalls saying that the homicide division had taken over the case.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Monday, Oct. 3, 2016 at 5 a.m.)—Two stabbing victims are reported to be in critical condition from a violent clash that allegedly occurred on the 4100 block of Spruce Trail in Frazier Park. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office reports that four people may have been stabbed early Sunday morning in an altercation that took place just after midnight.

Kern County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the residence where they found the homeowner suffering from a stab wound to his hand. He told deputies a group of men came to his house attempting to assault him. Investigators learned that three additional victims were being treated at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia for stab wounds, KERO reported. KCSO said two victims are in critical condition and a third victim is suffering from minor injuries, the first report said.
