Pueblo Police Department officers were conducting an investigation on an unrelated matter in a local hotel when they came into contact with suspect Brittney Humphrey and the 18-month-old child who had been traveling with them.

Joshua Robertson was found two blocks from the hotel and was taken into custody by Pueblo police officers. Robertson’s infant child, who had been traveling with the couple, is in the care of local officials in Pueblo, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials.

The three children of murder victim Kimberly Harvill Watkins were also taken by the couple but rescued Wednesday in a New Mexico motel where the children were left with a good samaritan.
