Taft High School Gunman Sentenced to 27 Years in Prison

Bakersfield, CA (Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015 at 9:15 a.m.)—The student who terrorized his campus in Taft with a shotgun, injuring two and threatening his entire school, has been sentenced to 27 years and four months in prison. District Attorney Lisa Green said Bryan Oliver entered into a plea agreement, going on record as “no contest” (nolo contendre) in two counts of attempted murder. He may be eligible for parole in 13 years.

The shooting event affected numerous Mountain Community children who were attending school there at the time.
