His voice is sincere and he speaks quickly in a morning telephone call, explaining why he was the Kern County Sheriff’s lieutenant who called in the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team to the Pine Mountain community on March 23. The goal was to serve a felony warrant for the arrest of Matthew Kevin Barr, 36 at his home. Just two days before the massive SWAT call-out March 23 to Matt Barr’s home in the Pine Mountain community, Barr was free in the mountains he loves. Now Barr is in Lerdo’s pre-trial facility, awaiting further legal hearings on a long list of charges. The family is hoping to raise bail so he can receive medical attention.
