New, simplified application for up to $10,000 for marketing

Teresa Hitchcock, director of the Kern County Board of Trade, came to Frazier Park last Friday with area representative David Chavez to review a new, shorter, tourism grant application that is due October 18. All 501(c) nonprofits may get their applications at www.visitkern.com/grants/. Proposals are evaluated on the ability to bring out-of-county tourists to Kern County and on effective techniques for tracking success in that goal. Funds of up to $10,000 per organization are allocated in January. The Mountain Enterprise will help those unable to save to a pdf format, but email editor@MountainEnterprise.com first to coordinate.
