Friday, April 3

• Frazier Mountain Car Club is kicking off spring with Cruise Night, 5–8 p.m. at the Falcon’s Nest (3216 Mt. Pinos Way). Bring out your old iron and show it off to the community while enjoying great food and fellowship.

Saturday, April 4

• Join the High Desert Runners Club at 8 a.m. for a seven mile run through the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve. There is a $10 parking fee, but no entry fee for the run. Bring post-run munchies to share (661.949.8197).

• Fort Tejon’s Frontier Army Days Dragoon Program is 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Come see living history demonstrations of pioneer life at this mountain outpost. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for ages 7–17. Children 6 years and under are free. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy under the big oak trees (4201 Fort Tejon Road, Lebec, about 5 miles north on the Interstate 5, off at the Fort Tejon exit).

• Don’t miss the 13th Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt and Barbecue at Frazier Mountain Park (3801 Park Dr., Frazier Park). The Egg Hunt, for children 12 and under, begins at 11 a.m. –don’t be late!

• Artworks Community Gallery brings you April Whimsy, an art show featuring whimsical art of five local artisans. The opening reception begins at 6 p.m. and all are invited to come and enjoy (16233 Pine Valley Lane, PMV). The show continues through May 10.

• VFW Post 9791 will be giving free Easter daubers to the first 20 people who play bingo at the VFW Hall, behind Don’s Liquor on Canada Trail. The fun begins at 7 p.m.– come on down and bring a friend, the Bunny may leave a special treat.

Ongoing and Upcoming

• Calling all burger-loving bookworms, ages 4–12; head over to the Frazier Park Library to sign up for In-N-Out Burger’s Cover to Cover challenge. For every five library books you read, earn a free cheeseburger or hamburger coupon (maximum of three coupons per reader), to be redeemed at any In-N-Out Burger location. Bring your stack of books to The Mountain Enterprise office and we’ll put your photo in the newspaper. Read all those books by April 11, because the offer ends April 12.

• The Family Resource Center (FRC) still has vouchers for an eye exam and a free pair of eyeglasses for residents who meet the income guidelines. You must be U.S. citizens or documented immigrants with social security numbers. Call the FRC today at 661.245.4303.
