• The Boys and Girls Club hosts Teen Night Skate Contest at the Skate Park, 7–9 p.m. All Mountain Community teens are invited to participate (Frazier Mountain Park, 3801 Park Dr., FP). Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place.

• The Jizo Peace Center fundraiser is at Name Your Price Thrift Store (628 Alhambra Tr., Frazier Park), from 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

• Fort Tejon’s annual Spring Civil War Reenactment, welcomes the public with Union and Confederate camp tours and artillery demonstrations, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. and the battle begins at 3 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults, $3 for children (7–17) and under 6 are free. Bring a picnic lunch (4201 Fort Tejon Rd., Lebec, about 5 miles north on I–5, off at the Fort Tejon exit).

Sunday, May 31

• Earth Skills presents, Native Plant Medicine Cabinet, an opportunity to learn how to harvest and prepare native plants to stock your medicine cabinet. The class will be held at Work of Heart Gallery (3011 Mt. Pinos Way, FP), 9 a.m.–4 p.m. and costs $45. Pre-enrollment is required and space is limited. President Abraham Lincoln will appear at the final day of Fort Tejon’s annual Spring Civil War Reenactment. He and Confederate leader Jefferson Davis will answer your questions. Civil War Battles are at 11 a.m.–2 p.m. with speeches from Lincoln and Jefferson Davis, plus the generals of both armies. Union and Confederate camp tours and artillery demonstrations. • Center of the World Festival offers a free historical fiction research workshop, 3-7 p.m. in Pine Mountain Village (Basecamp Cafe). Joe and Barbara Ladin show how each stage of research takes a writer from historical facts to a believable fictional character.
