• Be in the 35th Annual Lilac Festival Parade! Parade and booth applications for the May 20–21 parade and festival in Pine Mountain Village Center are online at www.pmclilacfestival.com (parade applications are due before May 12).

• The Kern County STEMposium on Friday, May 19, 8 am. to noon, is free to inspire the public at the Bakersfield College gym. A ‘Science Fair Meets Job Fair’ for middle and high school students shows science, technology, engineering and math related jobs.

• The Vine Pregnancy Center Fundraiser is Saturday, May 20, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. at Name Your Price Thrift Store in Frazier Park. Donations may be dropped off the day of the sale.
