• Kids 7-12 can join the Junior Rangers Club, 10–11 a.m. at the Frazier Park Library with Hungry Valley Rangers. Each week is different. Today they will cover Raptors and hold an owl pellet lab session. This free program runs for the next six weeks. Get prizes for attending all sessions.

• Discover the diversity of the Tejon Ranch Conservancy, 7 p.m. at the Condor Group of the Sierra Club in a free program at the Pine Mountain Club pool pavilion. Dr. Ellery Mayence and photographer Chris Gardner show the unique landscape, history and biology of this local treasure. The public is welcomed. Membership is not required.

• Steve Martin’s Working Wildlife presents animal actors, 2 p.m. at the Frazier Park Library—a huge hit with the kids, so get there early.
• A Public Hearing to amend the Tejon Mountain Village Special Plan is, 2 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Chambers (1115 Truxtun Ave., First Floor, Bakersfield). The proposed amendment seeks to convert the currently authorized 400 multifamily dwelling units to single-family homes, bringing the proposed development from 3,050 to 3,540 single-family units.

• An Alzheimer’s and Dementia Caregiver Support Group meets today from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Family Resource Center (3015 Mt. Pinos Way, FP). The topic is “Understanding Alzheimer’s Disease” and will include a video/CD with questions and answers. The next meeting will be Thursday, July 27, same time and place. • The Kern County Planning Commission has scheduled a hearing at 7 p.m. in the Supervisors Chambers (1115 Truxtun Ave., First floor, Bakersfield) on a Conditional Use Permit for an 80-foot “monopine” tree cell tower by AT&T at the end of Viewpoint Court in Piñon Pines.

• Aging is the topic of a Town Hall on Friday, July 14, 7 p.m. in the Pine Mountain Club Condor Room. Supervisor David Couch will be the keynote speaker. Adult Services Program Director, Jeremy Oliver will also answer questions.

• The Frazier Proud Community Cleanup day is Saturday, July 15 from 8 a.m. to noon. To volunteer call 661.245.1212 or register online at www.mymountainchamber.com. Meet at the Frazier Mountain Park Community Center to be assigned an area and to pick up supplies. Lunch will be provided after we wrap up the work!

• A free Community Barbecue Dinner is Saturday, July 15, 4–6 p.m. at the Frazier Mountain Park Community Center. Come share delicious hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, side dishes and desserts with family and friends.
