• The Frazier Mountain High School Cross Country team is holding a Rummage Sale, from 8 a.m. until they “run” out at 5240 Frazier Mtn. Park Rd., Cuddy Creek. All proceeds go to support FMHS Cross Country. Donations are also gladly accepted.

• First Annual “What’s in the Wind” Valley Fever Walk is 8 a.m.–noon at Apollo Park (4555 W. Ave. G, Lancaster). Register at 7:15 a.m. This is a pet- and child-friendly free event that includes information on valley fever, activities, a raffle and food.

• Microchipping for $15 and Nail Trimming $10 for cats and dogs (cash) 9 a.m.–1 p.m. at SOTH’s Thrift Store (3536 Mt. Pinos Way, FP).

• Author Dr. Abraham Hoffman talks about his book “California’s Deadliest Earthquakes, A History,” 2 p.m. at the Newhall Library (24500 Main St., Newhall). The Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society hosts this free event.

• Lockwood Valley residents are invited to Frazier Park Library for a General Plan Update (GPU) hosted by Ventura Co. Planning, 3–5 p.m. (3732 Park Dr., FP). The GPU questionnaire is available online at vc2040.org.

• Lynda Finch of Kern County Genealogical Society will be at the Ridge Route Communities Museum at 5 p.m. to tell how to find history through genealogy at the Ridge Route Communities Museum. Speaker donations are gratefully accepted. See story on page 10.
