• The Frazier Park Library will be closed today, Friday and Saturday so staff and patrons can enjoy the holiday with family and friends. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, Nov. 28.

• A Thanksgiving dinner is 2–7 p.m. at Frazier Park Moose Lodge #2364 (6941 Lockwood Valley Rd., Lake of the Woods; 661.245.1630). All are welcome to join in this friendly, festive and free gathering.

Ongoing and Upcoming

• Operation Christmas Child is collecting shoebox gifts November 13–20 for children in need around the world. Bring items to the Lebec Community Church from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. Shoe boxes to fill with small gifts are available at the church.

• The Holiday Faire and Festival of Lights Parade is coming up quickly, Saturday, Dec. 2. Applications the Festival of Lights Parade (due by November 30) are available now at mymountainchamber.com. Anyone can join the parade, so apply today!

• The Toys for Tots and Gifts for Teens program is starting at the Family Resource Center (FRC). Deadline to sign up your children is Monday, Dec. 4 at the FRC. Donations of gifts will be accepted until Wednesday, Dec. 13. Find Toys for Tots gift boxes around town.

• Christmas in the Village is Saturday, Dec. 9 from noon to 3 p.m. in Pine Mountain Village. Enjoy a parade, visits with Santa, vendors, entertainment and a kids’ shop. To sign up to decorate a tree November 11–28, contact Judy Keim (661.242.0817; mountainjudy@frazmtn.com).

• Frazier Mountain Little League Early Bird Registration is now through December 31 (http://www.eteamz.com/FMLittleleague/handouts/).

* The Annual PMC Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is Friday, Nov. 24 with hot chocolate, Christmas cookies and caroling in front of the clubhouse at 5:45 p.m. The lights go on at 6 p.m.

• The PMCPOA Craft Fair is Saturday, Nov. 25 10 a.m.–3 p.m. in the Condor Room at the PMC clubhouse. Handmade items only; no food or beverage items may be sold. Applications are available at the business window. Call 661.242.3788 for details.

* Will there be a Taj Mahal II? On Saturday, Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. the PMC Clubhouse Task Force will report on its progress. The task force is hoping for good participation of members with good questions and good ideas.

• The In the Wings Studio of Dance annual fundraiser performance at the Condors hockey game is Sunday, Dec. 3, 5 p.m. at Rabobank Arena (1001 Truxtun Ave., Bakersfield). You buy a ticket to the game, In the Wings gets a cut. For tickets and details, call the studio at 661.245.5678.

• An Open House and Orientation for the Mountain Communities Family Resource Center’s new “by-appointment” services in Pine Mountain Village is Tuesday, Dec. 5, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Mil Potrero Mutual Water Company meeting room (16275 Askin Dr., Pine Mountain Village).
