• At the 35th Annual Civil War Reenactment at Fort Tejon State Historic Park, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., hear the cannons roar, enjoy the strut of 1860s fashions. Ask President Lincoln your burning questions at his press conference. Mock battles Saturday and Sunday. Join in a period baseball game; see Civil War era merchandise at Sutler’s Row and more. • The Summer Reading Challenge and Music Festival Kickoff at Frazier Park Library starts at 11 a.m. Kids who read ten books receive a free book. Sign up at the library or at KCLsummerchallenge.org. Outside, ice cream and music will be served—fun and festivities for all!

• Market Day season begins 11 a.m.–3 p.m. and returns each Saturday through October 27, at Nature’s Home Organic Market (3011 Mt. Pinos Way, FP). Find locally grown organic produce and vendor booths. • Tejon Ranch’s Centennial Project’s L.A. County Regional Planning Commission land-use hearing is June 6 at 9 a.m. You can participate by making public comment either in downtown Los Angeles at the Hall of Records (320 Temple St., Los Angeles 90012) or at the satellite video conference site at Lancaster City Hall Council Chambers (44933 N. Fern Ave., Lancaster). The 20-year plan projects 19,333 homes (60-70,000 more neighbors) and 10.2 million square feet of commercial / industrial space between Gorman and Neenach.

• El Tejon’s 8th grade graduation ceremony is at 6 p.m. at Frazier Mountain High School (700 Falcon Way, Lebec).
