• The FMHS drama production ‘FrUiTCaKeS’ is full of holiday cheer. Curtain goes up at 7 p.m., but if you care to make it dinner-and-a-show, arrive early for a holiday-themed meal by Falcon’s Nest, starting at 6 p.m. Show tickets are $5 and the yummy dinner is $10.

• Wreaths Across America Day is observed at Bakersfield National Cemetery (30338 E. Bear Mountain Blvd., Arvin). The ceremony begins at 8:50 a.m., and family members are welcome to place wreaths on grave sites of loved ones beginning at 7:30 a.m., where Boy Scouts, Young Marines and Civil Air Patrol, along with other volunteer groups, will be in attendance to assist families.

• Get a fun dose of holiday cheer at a matinee of the FMHS drama production ‘FrUiTCaKeS’ at 1 p.m. Show tickets are $5, and snacks will be available to purchase.

• Frazier Mountain Little League Early-Bird registration is available in Pine Mountain Club, 2–4 p.m. at Basecamp (16311 Askin Dr., PMV).

• Give back this holiday season: plant a tree at Wind Wolves Preserve, where the goal is 150 new seedlings in the ground. Choose 9 a.m.–noon shift or 1–4 p.m. shift; those who do both shifts earn a complimentary lunch. (RSVP at 661.858.1115 to ensure lunch.) • ‘Artflix at Artworks’ will screen Pollock at 6:30 p.m. at the gallery (16233 Pine Valley Lane, Pine Mountain Village), starring Ed Harris as Jackson Pollock, America’s first internationally famous painter. The movie is free; wine and snacks are available for a $3 donation.

Ongoing and Upcoming

• The Christmas Light Show in Pine Mountain Village happens nightly, with a 20-minute spectacle of lights and music from 6–10 p.m., throughout December. Be sure to stroll through the Enchanted Christmas Forest as well, near the PMV gazebo. See photos on page 10 of the print edition.

• The Annual Craft Flaire at Artworks Community Gallery continues through Sunday, Dec. 30. The gallery (16233 Pine Valley Lane, Pine Mountain Village) is open Friday–Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

• Holiday Lights at California Living Museum (CALM) is a dazzling show that runs nightly through Saturday, Jan. 5 (closed Christmas), 5:30–9 p.m. (10500 Alfred Harrell Highway, Bakersfield; 661.872.2256). Tickets are $6–12; children under three are free. Free train rides on the Candy Cane Express railroad, carousel rides and a concession stand operated by Teen Challenge will complete a memorable night out for the whole family.

• Friday, Dec. 21 is the last day of school for El Tejon Unified, Gorman Elementary and Peak to Peak Mountain Charter Schools. School resumes after winter break on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019.
