•Bakersfield Vet Center’s Joe Acosta offers a wide range of veteran services to assist vets returning from military to civilian life. •Find out where your money is going and if assessments will rise. Plan to attend PMCPOA’s open budget meetings on Tuesday, Mar. 4 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Mar. 29 at 10 a.m. in the PMCPOA clubhouse (2425 Beechwood Way).

•If you take the school bus home to Pine Mountain, make the short walk from the bus stop to the PMC recreation room for quiet study time during the Homework Club’s open hours, every Tuesday and Thursday from 3–5 p.m. except school holidays (2425 Beechwood Way, Pine Mountain).

•The Kern County Grand Jury is accepting applications through April 4. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, be at least 18 years old, have a working knowledge of English, be able to donate 20 hours per week and have resided in Kern County for at least one year.
